Professional Philosophy of Education

My philosophy of education is molding as I continue to teach in Wake County Public Schools in North Carolina. In my classroom, school and community I will be an effective teacher by being consistent and dependable. I will instill in other a need for respect and humility in my classroom, and encourage and inspire them to be lifelong learners. As I reflect on my philosophy and beliefs regarding the field of education, teaching, and learning, my mission as a teacher is to:

  1. Promote a positive learning environment where students feel supported, encouraged, valued, and respected.

  2. Encourage enthusiasm and inspire learners to grow in their knowledge of content in mathematics, reading, writing, science, social studies, and spelling.

  3. Provide a strong foundation so students will be lifelong learners.

To meet these goals, I implement various strategies based on my education principles that reflect cognitive functioning and learning styles, instructional planning, learning theory, assessment, professional development, and my contributions to society.
